What are Prong Settings?
Prong settings, also known as claw settings, are a type of setting commonly used in jewelry, especially for holding diamonds and other precious stones in place.
A prong setting, or claw setting, consists of three or more metal claws bent over and around the gemstone, holding it securely in place. The prongs are usually made of platinum, gold, or another durable metal, and can be shaped and sized to fit a wide range of stone shapes and sizes.
